I first created this glaze combo when I was making a series of delicately thin appetizer dishes (plate 18). I love the iridescent accents and rainbow colors. The outcome is never exactly the same, it depends on the type of clay, the firing profile, and the slight changes with each new batch of glaze. Its elusive characteristic gives it a special charm.
Plate 18 was made using Bmix clay which has a more gray undertone. This bowl was made using Coleman porcelain which is ivory white and somewhat translucent.
Firing: Oxidation high fire
Clay: Coleman porcelain
