The studio recently created a new batch of glaze called Matte Patina. So I used this little mug to test out this glaze crossing it with many other glazes I often use to create different reactions and movement.
I was really surprised that crossing rutile over matte patina created a brown and amber result. Usually rutile highlights other glazes, but in this case, the combination looks like it created an entirely different glaze.
The inside of this mug was poured with sandy's green. I'm pretty sure (although should've taken better notes) that I dipped the rim with matte patina before the sandy's green pour. I angle-dipped rutile pink last with the mug upside down. This crossed glaze dripped about 2 inches!
I'm loving the blue/green/purple effect happening at the inside of the rim here, and I tried to figure out what exactly created this effect by glazing another bowl using these glazes. Unfortunately, I didn't yet re-create the blue/green/purple outcome.
