I wanted to create a perfect sphere-shaped bottom for a pitcher so that it looks like it should be rocking back and forth. I love the speckles that black mountain clay leaves in glazes, especially in the matte white and gloss white glazes. The grooves you see in the handle are made from my hands pulling the handle from a ball of clay.
