This was one of the tallest vases I threw when exploring how tall I could make an egg-shaped vase. The clay got too thin at the top for me to taper the clay further inward. I decided to pucker this vase to create a more oval shape.
To showcase the burnt-brick red color of Terracotta clay, I used wax resist to paint these fun shapes around the vase before painting with transparent glaze.
