I made this vase to hold utensils for the kitchen. When it finally finished the last firing, it shrunk so much that it was no longer tall enough to properly hold the long spatulas >_<, oops!
Clay shrinks as much as 20% by the final firing. It's almost comically shocking when we compare the final piece to the original wet clay thrown on the wheel.
