ABOUT vase 41

I wasn't intending to sculpt this vase into an elephant, but when I saw the pointy parts on the lower half of the original vase shape, I couldn't help but think of the tusks of an elephant. The overall shape of the vase seemed to be a good foundation to build out into the head of an elephant.

Because the sculpting process can take a long time, I had to work on this piece while in a bag and frequently spraying water to keep the humidity. This was also in Las Vegas, where the air is really dry.

This was my first sculpture piece, and I was really proud of how the piece turned out =)
